Manzanita branches

Manzanita is a beautiful hard wood that typically takes on interesting shapes and forms. I have used it in many terrariums, and while it may form some fungus initially, this will go away, and it holds up well to the moist environment of a dart frog tank. The pieces we are currently offering are more of the thick types, not the fine branched twigs that are sometimes offered. Those are great for baby chameleons, but these look more like fallen limbs in your tank. For custom applications or larger tanks, contact us for larger sizes.

Terrarium leaves - An assortment of durable dried leaves, which will make excellent terrarium decorations and hide spots. Leaves will last several months, and should be replaced periodically. Moss

Right now we are offering a beautiful type of moss known as pillow moss. It tends to be in small to medium size clumps, ranging from 3 to 7 or 8 inch mounds, circular in shape, which are tallest in the middle. It does well in terrariums, but like all moss I have tried, it does best on surfaces which get good light and excellent drainage! I recommend using this moss as an accent, not a “carpet”. If you will take a few pieces and place them around the tank, you will find some spots it thrives in. Moss will do best on spots where it receives good light, and good drainage. The spots in my tanks it has done best in are on surfaces like corkbark that is leaning up against a back wall.

Cork bark

Medium tubes - Since cork bark is a natural product, each piece is a little different. What follows should give you a good idea what we have available, but please let us know what you are looking for and we will do our best to fill your order.

These medium tubes are generally sold as a piece broken from the whole tube. Generally these pieces are concave, suitable for hide spots, or leaning up against a back wall and mounting bromeliads to. Medium tubes run about 36 inches long and about 6 to 12 inches in diameter, before we break them down to sell. Sold by the pound, the typical small hide spot is about two thirds to one pound of cork, and about six to ten inches long, by six inches wide. Order it in maximum number of pounds you are willing to purchase, and fill in a description of what you are looking for in the message box. We will do our best to fill your order, and charge you accordingly. For example, say you would like a full round piece of corkbark tube to go along the back wall of your tank, and the tank is 24 inches long. This could easily be five or six pounds, depending on how large and heavy what we have on hand is. So if you specify 8 pounds, we will not ship you a piece larger than that without clearing it with you. If we find a nice light piece here for you, and it only weighs five pounds, we will charge you for that. As another example, say you wanted a roughly fifteen inch long half round piece to lay on the floor of the tank. This would typically run two to three pounds. Just order four pounds, and write up a message describing what you want

Small tubes - When available, these are much smaller than the medium tubes, and are left whole. Tubes are between 6 and 16 or so inches long, and about 2-4 inches in diameter.

Just fill in the number of pounds you are interested in, and how many pieces, and write us a message about what you would like. The small tubes are much lighter than the medium tubes, and most pieces are one pound or less.

Tree fern panels , approximately one inch thick by 8 inch wide by 24 inches long. Great as a background, or for mounting plants on. Very resistant to rot, will last as a tank background for up to three years. Easily cut with hand saw, then mount to tank back with silicone.

Dry good shipping Information

All dry goods will be shipped via Fed Ex ground service, or US postal service Priority mail, depending on the product. These methods of shipping are pretty reasonable, and most orders will run between $5 and $10.

Minimum Dry Goods order is $10, not including shipping.

Some dry goods may be packed with frogs, but these are limited, particularly during the spring and fall, when we can ship frogs in single styrofoam boxes without using double boxes. If you are ordering frogs ask about having your dry goods packed with them.
