Hopefully this project will take off in 2003, but in 2002 we
stopped selling these awesome geckos to rebuild our breeding
colony, which had gotten old. This is perhaps the best of the
Phelsuma for terrarium keeping, they are incredible in markings,
not too shy, and fairly easy to keep. I find mine watching me
any time I am in the gecko room!
This species is fairly rare in US collections, and is no longer
imported. There has been discussion of placing this species
on the Appendix one of the CITES Treaty. For this reason I would
encourage you to only get this species if you intend to breed
it. I generally have a waiting list for these, so contact me
for more information.
