The Terrarium water fall kit will allow you to easily create a realistic rock background with a waterfall, in any tank that is at least 18 inches high and wide. The centerpiece of the kit is a cast rigid foam background, with realistic stone features, and a water fall. The insert is 17 inches square, and will fit neatly into any of the Exo-Terra and Zoo Med Tanks which are at least 18 inches wide. (I recommend the Zoo Med brand products, they have the single door rather than the double doors of the Exo-Terra brand.)
To modify the kit to install in wider tanks, measure the inside width of your tank, then subtract 17 inches. The number of inches left will determine how many tree fern pieces you will need to order to fill in around the waterfall. Each tree fern piece is 8 inches wide, and 24 inches long, so when cut in half it can cover up to four inches on each side of the waterfall. Specify how wide you need the tree fern cut and we can cut it for you, although it cuts easily with a sharp hand saw. The same technique can be used to allow the insert to be put in taller tanks as well.
Kit includes the following -
Cast stone back ground, ready to install in tank, with three sites on back ground set for plant mounting, with small holes drilled, drip lines and plant mounting ties.
Pump, with hoses and drip tubes, main feed line run to water fall, and Drip tubes installed in back ground, ready to keep your mounted plants watered.
1 10.5 oz tube Aquarium grade silicone Bag of tree fern fiber to hide silicone beads.
Instruction sheet provided by email unless print version requested.
You will need to supply lighting, plants, substrate and decorations. The only tool required is a caulk gun.
Note- If you are installing the kit in a 24 inch tall tank, or tanks wider than 18 inches you will probably want to have tree fern pieces cut to cover the glass that the insert does not cover. Cost for this is $5 and up, depending on the size. Please let me know if you need this and we can get you covered.
